First, let's look at the ores:
1.

Hardness = 1
Resistance = 3
Average amount of ore groupe per chunks = 8
Average numbers of ores in a groupe = 14
Generation height = 32 - 256 ( ideal digging height = 144)
The minimum tool required for breaking is a stone tool.
2.

-The hematite ingot has a very special craft:
it's equivalent to iron, and to obtain it you need to merge the hematite ore with a copper ingot in the craft table.

Hematite ore + copper ingot = Hematite ingot
Next, let's take a look at the tools:
1.

The harvesting level: Iron tools (It can break diamond, for example)
Efficiency: 6.5 (between stone and iron)
Enchantment: 14 (Netherite / wooden item)
Attack damage: 4
Attack speed: 1
Durability: 300 ( stone = 131)

Requires 3 hematite ingots and 2 sticks
2.

3.

The harvesting level: None
Efficiency: None

Attack damage: 6.5
Attack speed: 2
Durability: 300 ( stone = 131)

Requires 2 hematite ingots and 1 sticks
4.

The harvesting level: Iron tools
Efficiency: 6 (between stone and iron)
Enchantment: 14 (Netherite / wooden item)
Attack damage: 3.5
Attack speed: 1
Durability: 300 ( stone = 131)

Requires 1 hematite ingots and 2 sticks

Also, let's take a look at copper armor:
1.

Damage protection : 2 = 8% damage reduction

Requires 5 hematite ingots
1.6% damage reduction / hematite ingot
2.

Damage protection : 6 = 24% damage reduction

Requires 8 hematite ingots
3% damage reduction / hematite ingot
3.

Damage protection : 5 = 20% damage reduction

Requires 7 hematite ingots
2.85% damage reduction / hematite ingot
4.

Damage protection : 2 = 8% damage reduction

Requires 5 hematite ingots
1.6% damage reduction / hematite ingot
5. The complete armor :
Requires 24 copper ingot (Not easy to find)
60% damage reduction
In conclusion, hematite is a durable mineral; tools and armor are fairly easy to make and have good durability for rarity (equivalent to iron).
It's a good ore that's a light evolution of iron, and its brown color gives you an incredible look!
